Default question about an interview gouge

In one of the gouges on aviationinterviews the guy said he was asked "five wheels of different sizes are all touching, which one is spinning the fastest?" I dont understand the touching part, but assuming the largest wheel will spin faster. Can someone weigh in on this?

That's a set question designed to test your rational thinking skills. They use that one in sales tests a lot. I had an interview at a big firm in downtown Chicago and one of my questions was: "If you were a shape, what would you be." ...I left.

As for the wheels one, they probably just want to see how myou reason through the problem. They probably want to see how you work through a situation you haven't seen before or exactly prepared for.

I was thinking the bigger one due to the fact that it had more mass. But, I was also thinking that could be the smaller one cause it would take less engery to get it going. Who knows, now im starting to remember why I hated pyshics.

How are the wheels touching? If they are tread to tread (like gears) then the smallest would have the highest RPM. If the wheels are touching side by side, I would assume they are spinning at the same rate (same RPM), but a given spot on the outer tread on the largest would be moving faster than a comparable spot on the smaller wheels.

Stupid question.

True, question needs to be more clear because if we assume a certain spot on the outer tread, then it would be just like the prop, where the outside is spinning faster than the inside..Right rudder anyone?

It would have been awsome if you would have started barking like a dog then took a dump on his desk and left.......Then call back the next day and ask if they have made a decision in regards to hiring you.
