Believe it or not, they have remote cameras on every ramp. I'm serious!

So, they get a visual on the pilot who is scabbing smf identify him/her that way? That doesn't make sense. What about the MD11 that is stuck in Africa? Those airports have ramp cams too?

Again, I don't condone this, I'm just wondering how this works...
Airline industry is very small, somebody has a friend that knows a friend, that knows somebody.

Also, if the flight is going out 121 (or even 91 I think) there is a release for the flight from company dispatch. Official records will have the names of the crew members.

Actually, the union probably would have a right to obtain that information.

When Comair brought in retired instructors to repo some CRJs - they were caught on those cameras and their pics were ALL OVER the strike site.

They are currently on the "scab" list.

The way I figure it, take the information from the pilot website, believe half of it, take the information from the company, believe half of it, & you will get closer to what the real offer is.....

http://www.aero-news.net/news/commai...-59a86e65452c&

Acording to World Airways, “The company offered our pilots two compensation options,” said Charlie McDonald, World Airways chief operating officer.

“The first provided a 10 percent signing bonus and a pay increase of 3 percent in the first year and 4 percent annually for each of the next two years.

The other option offered a 7 percent signing bonus and a 5 percent pay increase in the first year, followed by 3 percent annual increases for each of the next two years. Given the circumstances in the airline industry today, we believe we provided an attractive, comprehensive offer that addressed the major concerns expressed by the pilots during negotiations.”

Other provisions in the contract offer included:

A commitment to add Boeing 747s to the World Airways fleet
Qualified furlough protection for 90 percent of current pilots for the duration of the contract

Preferential hiring at other World Air Holdings subsidiaries
The addition of training pay
Doubling guaranteed days off to 12 per month, coupled with a new volunteer system for additional flying

Doubling basic life insurance

Continued profit sharing

Increasing the company contribution to retirement plans

The company did ask for increased contributions to its medical plan based on dramatic cost increases in recent years.

If a fly poops on the windscreen during a strike, it lands with about 500dB.

Default Age 60?

Mebbe the plan is to run the repositions as a Part 91 operation .... OR they could reregister the aircraft with a 'developing world' rego and quickly get the scab pilots the appropriate licences?

Flag of convenience ships sail all over the world's oceans with crews on ####ty terms & conditions ..... it might just be a matter of time before even airlines convince 1st world governments of the supposed benefits of this sort of labour liberalisation. If it works for IT ......

This year in addition to all three Texas Motor Speedway weekends, the Indy 500, the USGP at Indy, and the fall Talladega Race (spring race I have to go to a race buddy's daughter's wedding) I'm doing four races in a row in August. Brickyard 400 at Indy, Watkins Glen, Michigian International Speedway and the night race at Bristol.

Due to Mz B's family reunion out in Western Colorado I'm missing Oshkosh Air Venture this year and the Milwaukee Mile IRL race, so she said I could do "something else". Well five weeks on the road in the Rollin' Condo and four NASCAR races is certainly "something else"! Got the new land yacht last spring so figure I’ll make good use of it. She kind of likes not having me "under foot" all the time. Just like when I would fly. Hmmm....I wonder if the Marine Corps Band Bus will be in the driveway like before when I was gone?

Having a ball as a retiree...even though Doug and the rest of his DALPA buddies don't let us on their DALPA forums...or ALPA for that matter! Woo Hoo!

Little thing called a "scab list". Remember the aviation community is in reality pretty small and tight knit.

I still have scab lists from Continental, Eastern, and United strikes. Once a scab, always a scab.

Funny thing about that group…scabs...they all have a "good and valid" reason for what they did. At least in their minds. A grievance with the union over something they did or did not do for that particular pilot. Some "higher calling" to "help the company". But in the end it's all about the same thing..."greed". And they'll step over anyone to satisfy that urge, scratch that itch, just like a scab! But that decision will follow them the rest of their lives.

I used to have disagreements over the way our union was doing things. I voiced them too. I attended local meetings, made inputs, voted on every issue that came down the pike. But in the end if we ever went on strike, which we at Delta actually voted to do, I was not going to cross that picket line. Good or bad, it was MY union.

When other pilots went on strike I gladly paid the assessment. Plus gave what I could to other funds, and even walked their picket line with them. All has to do with a commitment to your chosen profession and honoring the commitments of those who share that profession with you.

But that's just they way I feel about the issue of unions, scabs, and commitment to others.

Jon, Jon, Jon. I have never seen you hold the union's feet to the fire.

I still remember the look on Cha-botts ("that's sha bo!") and Jimmy's face when you were quizzing them about something they said in a LEC memo. They weren't counting on JIBC's memory!

Yes because only a PILOT could possibly present correct information on here.

And what if he is a member of management? Does that make what he posted any less true or correct?

If you are not going to take what is said on here at face value, then what is the point of reading it?

I think my point was - "hey, folks be aware this person might be management posting on a pilot board."

I certainly don't mind hearing from management but I would like it if they identified themselves as such.

So who are you, skydog?

Are you with World?

John have you heard anything more about the contract from your contacts. I have been off for a few days and havent heard anything. To be honest this contract situation has gotten very much coverage in ATL, which isnt suprising. Unless is DL, Home Depot or Coke not gets mentioned in ATL. Just wondering if you had heard of any changes..

Just don't ask JIBC, whoops, ROFCIBC about the NASCAR rulebook!

We're talking hours of specific cross-references, lines, and appendices!
