I'm aware that airlines require that a certain amount of time has to be flown within the last few months of being hired. Just as an example if I have flown 2,500 hrs as a Commuter Captain with 2,000 of it being PIC turbine and I quit due to unavoidable reasons, but managed to fly a single engine Cessna 10-15 hours a month for lets say a year would I still be marketable for a job at an airline?

I'll take a stab and say it depends on the airline and the circumstances surrounding your decision to quit. If you mean a major airline I doubt you'd get hired in today's market without being current in something other than a single engine cessna. If you mean getting a job at another commuter then I'd guess you'd have a decent chance except that 1) they know you'll quit as soon as something better comes along, and 2) they may have a minimum hrs required in the last 6-12 months along with a requirement that you be currently employed as a pilot. Again, just a guess.

Agree with the above. You'd probably get some interviews but they would be looking at the sim ride really close. You'd want to make sure you can do well on the sim ride.
