| I am in Nashua right now. Send me a PM; I'm moving out tomorrow actually but I visited ECAS and I've been at ASH for three and a half years now. |

There are (to my knowledge) two FBO's on the field excluding DWC. One is GFW and the other is Keyson. I got my private at the now defuct KeyFlite. I'm not so sure about rent, but it will be high, count on over $800 for a decent one bedroom. ~wheelsup

| I'm about 40 minutes west of Nashua, NH. I took my flight lessons there at Harvest Aviation and recieved my Private Pilots License there. |

| Nah, he doesn't sound like JFK. There is one other FBO on the field that I know of, that being Air Direct Airways. They do some charter flights and also have a flight school. As far as apartments go, I was looking into moving into an apartment with three other friends and they are paying $1,100 per month for a two bedroom place with a basement, excluding utilities. Nice place, but pricey. Everything in the area is totally overpriced. I'm not sure what the draw is to New England since it's less than 20F outside right now! Where are you going to work at Nashua? |

Max, you have us NH folk confused with Massachusetts. The letter "r" does not exist if you're from Massachusetts. There is considerable truth to the phrase "I'm gonna pahk my cah down by Hahvahd yahd" Folks from NH really don't have much of an accent, but you cross the border into Mass or Maine and you really start to notice the accents. By big beef with Nashua is that flipping (literally, "flipping" as in it flipped over recently) helicopter that takes off and lands 90 times a day at KASH. My fellow JC'ers who have been to ASH will know what I'm talking about. I used to live in Boulder Park (apartment complex near the runway) and that copter drove me nuts...

| Wow, this is kinda trippy man . I am currently training with someone else on the field at ASH and after several setbacks, I found myself checking ECAC out just last night... then this post appears.. hmmm (also a good excuse for me to de-lurk ). Anyway, seems like a decent place, but I'm still evaluating. There is more info about ECAC in general at http://www.ecas.com/ which is their main office in BED. Anybody flying with them out of BED that can share some their experiences?as for life in nashua... lots of retail (traffic around Christmas sucks donkey nads!), very high housing prices, high property taxes. The last 2 affect rentals which, as stated by others, are somewhat high for what you get. But, no income tax, no sales tax, and gas taxes are on par with everyone else. Some of the surrounding areas to the east (hudson, pelham) might be a little cheaper and are a reasonable commute to ASH. Forget going west of Nashua to find cheap housing, if you go north you will have to pay tolls to get to work, and if you go south you will have to pay Mass income tax. |

| I fly with ECAC out of Bedford. They are really awsome guys there and provide great services. The condition of the airplanes are fantastic and the prices are good. Also you'll probly have a good flow of students. All in all I would DEFINITELY recommend ECAC BTW they jsut opened their office in Nashua this summer.

| ECAC Nashua offered me a job this summer... make sure you totally scope out the situation before you go any further. They were just starting and it didnt seem like the best deal but now they may have grown. Nothing against the school but I got bad vibes... a plus though, you can perhaps teach in the PA44 right off as you have your MEII. |

| Old Skool | 8B8 baby Lakes Region flight school. That was my first taste of "real" flight training. My first flight was winter of 99, and my CFI made me fly with one hand about 150ft above frozen Lake Winnipesaukee. Scared the crap out of me. I thought people flew with two hands on the controls all the time. lol. My first CC was to Nashua. Anyone ever been to Jaffrey? It has a crazy slope, and some damn good clam chowder just a couple hundred yards from where you park. (just follow the painted feet )

As for the Airpark, there is much to be desired. Not only is the airport on a crazy, (but fun) slope, but the Airport Manager likes to make the calls. For example: You're calling five out with intentions of entering the 45 for runway 16. The Airport Manager will shoot back - we're landing on 34 today. Despite the winds favoring 16, he will insist on landing 34. Lets just remember who is PIC here... To read some interesting comments on the airpark, look here: http://www.airnav.com/airport/KAFN/A#c

| I flew into Jaffrey in July 2001 - picked up my mom (in Mass) and flew her up there and we met friends for lunch.. I don't remember any specific problems although I do remember a comment when I called in 10 miles out about "all traffic flowing" for 34 or something, and I was the only airplane there when I got there and we never saw another one the entire time, but that was about it. What's the investigation going on here? Is the guy going to be shut down for what he's been pulling over the years?? Never met him so don't know anything other than the comments I read from airnav but what with so many similar complaints, you'd think something would be done about the situation... |

| I don't know the details of the investigation and what the purpose of the thing actually is. It could be as little as the FAA writing him a letter saying "stop telling people to use the other direction" or it could be more than that. Regardless, it is still up to each pilot to know that they ought to be landing with a headwind and not a tailwind. |
