| Old Skool | Ok, so I printed off my boarding pass to go home tomorrow. On my flight from ATL-MCI, instead of a seat number it says "Seat Request". Does that mean I don't have a seat unless someone cancels/no show's or gives up their seat? My gut feeling tells me I'll be spending a good amount of time in ATL tomorrow with an eat s**t and die look on my face. So if anyone is there, look for me!!

| Im not too sure how the DL system work but on the UA side the downline station can put a flight into what we call gate control for a reason known to that station. This means seat assignments are given at the gate and the pax gets a DM or Departure Management card with the pax's appropriate Boarding Priority on it. Like Kristie said, its the same type of card a non-rev would recieve. My suggestion, call DL and ask about status of the flight or check the website. Otherwise when you get to the airport and to your assigned gate, IMMEDIATELY go to the gate agent and make yourself known and ask for your seat or status of getting a seat (in a respectable, non-demanding manner, of course). But again this is just on the UA side. |

| Big Chief's Woman | hehe...ya never know... maybe that's why he got a seat request card! but anyways, I agree with tripleseven... the status of the flight should be fine - everything looks normal on my end and it's not oversold (yet)...but check in with the gate agent once you get thru security and find out what the dealio is and what seat you'll be occupying. |

| Old Skool | Its not a selectee thing as they can not check in online, and at the airport they are given normal boarding cards that have 4 extra letters on them. As for the seat request there are always day of departure seats available, check at the gate whwn you get there. at least by checking in online you should be on of the frst revenue SBs on the list (it goes by checkin time). Edit: Just checking the airport stand by list, he made it as all "HKs" got on as well as a good number of non revs. |

| Old Skool | Sorry to unleash a can of worms but the "S" thing is not too secretive. The reason "S" people can't print boarding cards at home is because there are too many easy ways for the boarding pass to be altered. I hope I did not give out too much info, but everything that I said is basicly common public knowledge, except maybe the online thing. Some of us airline people try to make this a secretive thing when it really is not. Doug et al. if you feel what I said is in appropriate go ahead and remove it, no hard feelings... |

| Old Skool | Kind of late posting, but here I am nevertheless. Once the gate agent got there, I went up to him and he got me a seat. There were quite a few people who had to do the same thing. So...I made it home on time (well, 9 minutes late...but who's couting ) and I'm ready for some turkey and fun times with the family! I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!! ![]()

| Did you have a little talk with the pilot for not telling you that you would be 9 whole minutes late, therefore your family had to drive around the airport one more time waiting for you...I would have been furious. Glad you made your flight.![]()

| According to a Google search, SSSS is the Sassy Secretaries Secret Society! I'm not kidding! I've gotten flagged every time I've used a buddy pass in the last year. Methinks it has something to do with last-minute travel.
