| Multi time comes in waves because the students come in waves and progress through the ratings together. There are times when there are no students working on multi, and times when many of them are. When there are lots of students working on multi, there are also a lot of instructors getting multi time and coincidentaly are reaching airline mins and leaving, which leaves a ton of multi students with no instructor, and also a lot of overworked MEIs who will gladly let you take their studetns for cross countries. That's actually where I got all my multi time, was from students who's instructors left, or who's instructors needed me to help them out. I actually only had 3 Korean students that I started private with. All three of them either left the school, ran out of money, or went to a Korean instructor. I didn't get any multi time from them. After a year and a half out there though, I managed to get over 200 multi hours from picking up students from instructors who left, and by being available on my "time off" to fly cross countries with other students. If you stick around long enough, the multi time will come. That is a promise.

| Well my first 6 months I was just a ground instructor and didn't have my CFI yet. I only put in about 20 hours during that time. After I got my CFI I got 3 students, but with weather delays and such I was putting in about 30 hours a month. My last 3 or 4 months however I started picking up all that multi time I was talking about, and the weather was improving. I was working 6 to 7 days per week but was getting over 100 hours per month. I flew just over 120 hours in my busiest month. Over the whole year an a half I logged about 650 hours.

| It sounds like you're trying to figure out if you could keep busy. You will. As flyguy said it is easy to do more than 100 hours a month, I had a few months in the 135 hour range and that is only flight hours not counting ground pay and sim stuff. I did 850 flight hours in nine months.

| If while any of you are out for an interview and are not impressed, there's another opportunity about 50 miles north you might be interrested in. http://forums.jetcareers.com/jobs-av...tml#post652788

| I wouldn't recommend getting your CFI through Sierra. They are just too expensive and their instructors are too busy. If you are working as a ground instructor it will make it even harder because you'll be too busy as well. I came on as a ground instructor, picked away at my CFI for about 6 months not really making any progress, and finally ended up going to Sheble to get it done. I don't know about the new JC Academy, but I'd immagine the same sort of deal. I'd recommend taking a couple weeks and doing an accelerated course through ATP or Sheble.

| Boston has multi time!!!!!!! Dude, what the hell are you talking about? Mr. B is awesome! I did all my rides with him except Pvt, CFI and CFII. Know the pitot static system inside and out and you'll be fine. Here's my Mr. B gouge. He'll most likely show up at least 15 minutes late. The oral will take 3+ hours but he'll only ask about 30 minutes worth of questions. He'll start out by giving you some paper and he'll write 10 questions on the board. Then he'll leave the office for about 30 minutes while you write the answers on the paper. One of the questions will be draw the pitot static system, and he'll also want you to explain 10 conditions and 4 factors. For MEI you'll teach them. Be prepared with diagrams to draw on the board for the 4 factors. Every 10 mintues he'll get on the phone and leave the office for about 15 minutes. He'll come back and not remember what you were dicussing before he left. Then he'll BS and shoot the ###### for a while (he was a cop for 30 years, get him talking about that and you're golden). Then he'll ask one or two more questions, then get back on the phone and the cycle continues. More BS, more questions, more phone calls and after about 3 hours he'll be ready to fly. If he asks what makes an airplane fly, the answer is money. He'll proabbly also ask how many engines the Seminole has. Say something off the wall like "7" and he'll chuckle and you'll be off to a good start. He'll also ask you for all the endorsements you'll need to sign off a commercial multi checkride. Use the AC. For the MEI ride, you'll do the landings first at CCR. He'll probably take the controls and have you talk him through a short field landing, then out over Travis you'll do the maneuvers and come back in. Mr. B's MEI ride is by far the easiest checkride I've ever done. Don't be a jerk and he won't be. If he starts ragging on you get him talking about cops. Good luck man.

HA, jk jk, but the end to the middle of september, i'm so there (unless i pick up this sweet S2000 from Merced, then I'll stay alittle while longer at 25 bucks and hour.....) but yeah man, pretty soon bro's. As for a frat name? I think it should be something like IWANTTOFLYNOTINTHEHEAT! YEH BOI!!!! And yeh Mr. B is a jerk, he's insane, but fairly easy, but have to lube him up. Hey Neil, you over at EWR? How's life out there back east man? Ya'll get to up and down the seaboard, and into Canada and mexico (by the way I have to show you guys what i did to my car, amazing stuff) |

| I just finished my multi add on, and it was a recheck. Eric I should have talked to you about the pitot-static system.....my drawing was not to his liking on the oral and I think it carried over to the ride.....thus the first one was a disaster.....second time around was way better. He was in a great mood....in hindsight, I'm glad he pinked me, it was a wake up call....too many hrs of critiqueing chinese students made me complacent. Next up, MEI in two weeks..... |

| Yeah if you know how to work Mr. B he's a teddy bear, but he can be grumpy if you push the wrong buttons. He really loves that pitot static system. He'll have you going into the mode c and explain the encoder and digitizer, and if you can take the pressure altitude reading all the way to ATC you'll earn some major brownie points.

| Hey know what was kinda funny, I was drawing and explaining the Pitot system and i look back, Mr. B is full out sleeping. Like his head was nodding off, pretty funny stuff. Ohh, and the calling people thing, so I'm in the middle of a oral, he says stop, wait a min, picks up his phone, and calls someone. Best part, he's like hey buddy, haven't spoken to you in awhile, how's things? THEY TALKED FOR 20 mins catching up. Yeah this guy is the man. Looks at me, then says keep going, what are you waiting for? The guy is a straight M####### and I love'em for that. Why do you think we get along? |
