Default Pics from New Orleans

Hi guys,

Just got back from New Orleans, and did that place get roughed up.
Spent 2.5 weeks running around down there checking houses, guarding an already looted grocery store and sweating my balls off.
Lots of damage from flood water, wind and looting.

Good to be back and continue flight training.

here are a few pics (if I can get them to show up)

Default Been in New Orleans. Will ge some pics up when I get back home

Down in New Orleans with the hurricane relief effort, hoping to fly back sometime around the 6th. Been our drinking a few nights and there was like one bar open on Rue Bourbon. And they did not even have beer or bournon the other night. So the French might say: "Ne est pas bourbon dans Rue Bourbon" or for those of you who may not know French: "There is no bourbon on Bourbon Street. That night I had a shot of vodka straight then another persons who had enough straight. I was with a bunch of Hispanics so I was attemping to speakwhat little Spanish I know. I tried to walk a line in the street just for fun and that was no good but I did say my alphabet--so do I half pass the test officer?
But gee did this town get roughed up. I love it though. The French Quarter is beuatiful despite all the "strip clubs" and witch shops--guess I am too conservative for a few of you pilots who would love such a layover in New Orleans. I love the old houses and churches. I am a lover of art so good architecture is always appreciated with me. Just cannot wait to get back and start flying.

Mr. Theotokos,.. what you just wrote; Is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought.

Everyone on this message board is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points. And may God have mercy on your soul.

(( Adam Sandler fans will know this one ))

Default Yes it was a bit crazy

I will give you that. It made no sense. Forgive me. Let me try to be rational here. I don't know how I wrote that other ####:

I, too, have been down in New Orleans helping with the relief effort, feeding the Homeland Security officers--ICE, New Orleans Police, and other federal agents. It's been an expierence but I must say I am ready to get home and start flight training. I've learned somthing: Manual labor is not for me.
I'll get some pics up when I get back home and if I get a chance I'll get a shot of the C130 that comes over at maybe 200 or 300 feet AGL, spraying bugs. But like always, it always seems to come over when I don't have a camera.
I do have a shot of me in front of a Coast Gurard helicopter, a few disaster pics, and I am going to try and get a few shots of the churches and other buildings.
It's just amazing though, to see a city of party action so like a ghost town. Rue Bourbon is deserted and dark, and we found one bar open with no bourbon or beer. As the French might say: "Ne est pas bourbon dans Rue Bourbon" (There is no bourbon on Bourbon Street) I was forced to drink vodka, so I have 2 shots straight. Try to walk down Rue Bourbon like that....especially with my lack of alcohol tolerence...one beer and I am a bit tipsy.
Hope that is a little more logical. Just had a lot to say. I touched on many a subject so it still may be a bit unclear.

This is a strange thread. From reading Theotokos post on his experience in the French Quarter, it probably was a good thing they wouldn't let us Infantrymen drink, too many guns and not enough brian cells.

It was really weird to walk around town with nothing going on. Reminded me of the movie "28 Days", we were counting down until the zombies came out.

If I were drunk, I would write like Shakespeare or somthing. The best works of literature and other forms of art are produced when the artist is under the influence of alchohol. Hell, I believe Mozart composed his Requiem in a time of depression and drunkness and Poe had an alcohol problem. I'd had a can of beer, which even with my lack of tolerence, does nothing.
