[ QUOTE ]
The same windbag politicians who call for letting airlines fail will be the very ones who will rant and rave when East Upchuck loses all scheduled air service, and Southwest declines the opportunity to operate there.

[/ QUOTE ]It's funny because it's true.

Very well put. It's refreshing to see an alternative to the "Southwest and JetBlue LCC model is gospel" mindset.

In one leg today, I've heard:

"You guys are bankrupt because you fly too many different types of aircraft!"

and

"If we didn't have to fly thru Atlanta, you guys would make more money!"

*sigh* Everyone's an expert...

(but on a related note, some of the "oh yeahs!" are people that have preached in the recent past about business models, dissimilar aircraft types and 'paradigm shifts'! Not pointing any fingers though... )

[/ QUOTE ] Ya I feel the same as to everyone is an expert, and it really gets on my nerves. If you talk to people about aviation without identifying yourself as a pilot it is amazing to hear how much they THINK they know about flying.....
