Default School from hell

I wanted to get a view from someone elses shoes so if you dont mind reading about my flight last night here it is.

After having to drive to the Flight Schools 2nd location because the planes at the location to near me have non working rear headphone jacks, EGT Gauge, and Timer. Its 92/hr

Night Flight
Shed. 636 - (came early looked over plane and checked fuel)
7:00 - Arrival No gate code works - let in by some kid after 3 calls to management to get in.
7:20 - Someone took my plane and moved me to 5LP
7:35 - 5LP No landing light or position light on tail (not legal for night part91-205 could be wrong though)
8:00 - 27F No Taxi light, Prop wouldnt engage to start (even showed a CFI)
8:30 - 636 (the orignal plane) is dispatched back to me after cfi gets done teaching students off shedule.
8:45 - Preflight complete and no fuel (i came early to make sure it had fuel)
9:05 - Fueled ready for takeoff 3 preflights, lockdowns and 2 hours later.

All the while i had 3 people with me draging them and all the stuff from one plane to the next.

Rates for planes

636 - 125/hr
27F - 95-125/hr
5LP - 95-125/hr

Reasons for not taking said aircraft
636 - missing
5LP - no Landing light or position light
27F - No taxi light, prop would not enage

Would you be alittle agravated with the school too if they just said well what do you want me to do about it. All the while i am spending tons of money with them to get my ratings.

Don't feel bad... I rented a plane once for a day trip with my folks to visit my Uncle's church (My uncle is the minister, therefor we needed to get there by 9am). Originally scheduled for a Cherokee, two days before the trip they called and said I was switched to the C172, which is no problem... even had better avionics (nothing special, but better) for only $2.00 more at $90.00. The night before (we were leaving at 6am) I was told that the plane was in the shop, but was ready. But at a different airport. So, at 4 am I drag my parents out to the airport that is about a 35 minute drive. I had remembered to ask if there was a gate or lock, and was told no, the key will be in the plane on the ramp. We get there, and believe it or not, there is a gate, and it's locked. So at 5:30, with my parents mad that they were awake at that ungodly hour (did I mention it was January with a temperature below freezing?), I crack the code at the airport gate and go in search of the plane. About 6:15 I had gone up and down the ramp and didn't find the plane, only to find it in the hangar. Great, it'll be warm and ready to go. I just have to get into the hangar to get to the plane. Guess what? Locked as well. So needless to say, at about 6:30AM we gave up and went home. And this is a company I got my Private at and continue to rent and spend money at. Oh well.

Oh, and same company... I was renting their Cherokee a few months later in the summertime. Taking a girl (trying to impress her with my newly minted Commercial Cert.) and the engine won't catch. She's a nervous flyer to begin with and here I am with the engine not starting. When it finally does, she was so terrified it would quit she didn't want to go. Oh well....

for those prices you'd expect the planes to be functional/there.

The flying club I used to fly with in Japan developed some issues while I was there.

One time I went to fly one of the "new" 172s they got. So my brother and I take off, and as soon as we get airborne, all I can hear is static in the radio. Could barely barely make out ATC and my brother in the right seat. Sounds like somebody is blowing over a microphone. So I unplug both mics to see if taht was a problem, look in the back to see if there were any more that were plugged in...nope. So we turn it around and land, head back into the flying club an tell them what happened.

So we get in there, I tell the head of the club what happened. I ask "you want me to write it up?". Answer: "nah, we'll see what the next person who flies it says." There were a lot of student pilots in that club, I could see one of them easily getting distracted on climbout trying to fix the problem and forgetting to fly the airplane....even if it weren't a safety issue, wouldn't you be pissed if you had a flight planned, you went up, had the same thing happen and found out that the guy in charge of the club knew about it?

So we reschedule for a different day in a different plane. Was a nice day, head out there to preflight and find out...ahh, nice. The guy doin the 100 hour left the battery master switch on. Head back into the club, tell them what happened, "well 5241F (the plane with the intercom issues) is available". So I ask if anybody has flown it since I did and if they had any issues. "uhh....yeah, a couple people have". So I look at the dispatch record to see the last name on the list..."hey, that name looks famililar...oh wait, its me!"
