| Again, no commentary. Any knowledge would help but I do know that this plane was hit by 1 Canadaian Goose. Brent |

| I've seen these pictures before. That plane was involved in a midair with another aircraft, not a bird. The nose-wheel of the other aircraft made the gash you see in these pictures. The pilot of this aircraft was able to land safely (having avoided decapitation by mere inches); the other plane crashed - no survivors. I'm pretty sure this midair was discussed within the last year in either Flying or AOPA Magazine -- I read about it somewhere. |

| [ QUOTE ] Pretty sure that is a Baron that was involved in a mid air... [/ QUOTE ] hmmmmmm..........I thought for sure it was a goose, but hey.......I've been wrong before. Funny thing is.........I thought that was allot of damage for a goose......but since I am not knowledged in crash dynamics.......I didn't question it. Interesting. Brent |

Brent [/ QUOTE ] Maybe a Grumman Goose? ![]() My dad hit a bird low-level in the FB-111. It didn't come through the windscreen, but it made a mess and took out half the avionics. And when I was at WPAFB, we used to hear the chicken cannon firing at jet engines. Every once in a while you'd hear the whine of the engine and a "BOOM" when it didn't quite pass the test... |
