Figured I'd keep you guys posted. I had phase I of the interview today. This portion is a sim ride in a CRJ-200 sim. Four of us interviewed, and only three of us made it through. I can't wait to finish the interview tomorrow and hopefully start working for ASA.

If only. Unfortunately, I moved away when I was a kid. Didn't have much choice in the situation, seeing how mom and dad were in charge and they weren't listening to me complain. I've been dying to get back there ever since. One of these days, man, I'm gonna move to San Diego. I can't afford LJ (who can?) but get me out to San Diego and I'll be happy. |

If my renters leave, you can have my 3 bedroom for $2100/mo. That's a steal there.

If it's a steal at that price you ever think they will leave...people love zip codes. I have a friend of a friend. He has no money and is 24 and "kept" by his "daddy". There looking for a house together and his older bf wants to live in Paradise Valley to be closer to work. And Josh (the boytoy) is like ughhhh I can't have a PHX zip code. So there buying a house in SDL. Whats funny is he isn't buying the house. And anyone who lives in the PHX area knows that there is more money in Paradise Valley then Scottsdale. -Matthew |

I think its funny how the zip code alone can make a big difference, even if there are better houses across the street over the zip code line. All I care about is that I can cover the costs of the house, the tax, the mortgage payment, and the HOA fees and still come out even or ahead, so as long as I have good renters like them they can stay as long as they want at that price. I'll be too busy in my flight career over the next couple years to want to turn over the place, even at a higher rental price. |

Yeah man...vanity is a huge, huge sin. Think it's one of the big seven. People love the presteige of living in an expensive zip codes. Me I just like PV=property value and people who take care of their place and don't bring down my PV. Those HOA can be nazi's but it keep the PV high. My mom sold the house I grew up in not long ago was estimated at a lil over $250k sold for much less and she had to pay $5k for a new roof. She lost money in that sale. And guess what we didn't have HOA. The neighborhood started out as a upper middle class neighborhood but when most of the originals owners moved out they moved alot of HUD people in. Since then I keep PV hammered in my head! -Matthew |

It is ridiculous. The La Jolla zip code, 92037, has an average selling price of almost $2.3 million for a single family home. Drive just a few miles down the road, to Mission Beach or PB, and it's about $844K. Dude! La Jolla's houses cost more than Rancho Santa Fe's! That's crazy! |

Got the dreaded thanks, but no thanks letter today. It is a shame, because I really liked everyone I met from the company, and would definatly recommend it to anyone who met the mins.
