[ QUOTE ] Crew confusion found in Athens plane crash At 14,000 feet, oxygen masks deployed as designed and a master caution light illuminated in the cockpit. [/ QUOTE ] All bells and lights and whistles aside, the masks deploying should have been a clear indication of a pressurization problem. Granted there were problems from the begining with this flight, namely the crew selection. This was sad because the accident was totally avoidable. Jim |

I wonder why the author of this article left out the fact that a flight attendant, who had just started taking flying lessons, had supplemental oxygen and disengaged the autopilot to start a a descent (over an hour after it started holding). This article even says that the fuel imbalance disengaged the autopilot, but F-16 pilots actually saw this guy on the flight deck moving around. But it did run out of fuel (not that a student pilot has the skills to land a 737 anyway). Interesting. http://www.flightinternational.com/A...nd+Mayday.html http://www.news24.com/News24/World/News/0,,2-10-1462_1758630,00.html |
