 |  Any Long Beach Pilots?
Who here on JC flys out of Long Beach and can give me the gouge on the flight schools and the airport? So far I know there is LBFC, California Flight Center, and ATP (which would not apply for the CFI course). Anyone in the area want to have a get together?

| Long Beach - Aviation West
I haven't heard much about Aviation West but their website seems to be pretty B.S. free. It's run by a UAL pilot and seems to emphasize career development and gimmick free, quality instruction. Have any of you had any experience with them?

No experience with them. Looked at the website. Seems like they have good rates and a track record with Skywest. And you won't pay 11K plus for 46 hours of dual, either.

Hey Brett... I got my PPL with Aviation West... It's a good school and everything is straight forward, no B.S... However, I had a buddy of mine take lessons there and it seems that all their good instructors left to SkyWest, so they have a bunch of new isntructors... and rookies aren't always the best teachers... not sure if you're looking to go there as a student or a cfi applicant... but Julio, the chief pilot, is HUGE on safety... let me know if you have any more questions... I'm a little familiar with the others schools in LGB.... I would get together with you, but I'm currently on a trip that wont land me back in LA until early October |
