my morning consisted of in the back of my ambulance at 05:30 in a fight with a crystal meth user..........

Someone please tell me the day will come when it all ends and there is just flying.........

That works both ways! There's been many a day when I've been flying and I look back fondly on my ER Tech/EMT/Medic days, reminiscing about wrestling a combative drunk or working a code instead of flying.

Funny how that works........

Well, not ALL day. I seem to recall someone playing with the Seminole sim at some point to see if it worked.....

I too have those "zen" like moments, the only thing is that they are more often as I'm riding my Harley ... I'm realizing that I do the flying thing so that I can really do what I want to do, ie: the flying thing pays the bills. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love it and couldn't imagine doing any thing else, I'm fortunate that what I have to do is something I really like to do, but it is becoming less defining of who I am.

What do you think of the new software, I've been using Elite since the early 90s, did you get the software from PFC and do you have any idea how much it was?

Thanks!

I like X-Plane a LOT more than Elite. The calibration of the controls is a lot easier and you can get it a little "tighter" than with Elite. Plus, the Instructor station is much better laid out. Turn on the weather, and you can vector your students either through or around the t-storms! Graphics is better, but that doesn't matter if you use it mainly for IFR training.

Yeah, we got it from PFC, but it's till in "demo" mode. Gotta try to convice the boss to drop the $$$ on the USB keys to let it run longer than 10 minutes, and that's not gonna be cheap.

I'll say it, about 2K! but that includes "lifetime" software updates. I am sure we can come up with the money. At least it dosent run on avgas.

Until the day comes that I find an AM station playing metal, I'll have to dream. That's why I have Slipknot and Pantera stickers on my flight case.

I was in the restroom in CLT a couple of years ago. Stereotypical white dude, early 20s, has his headphones on, whistling a Maiden tune. Also wearing a denim jacket with a big Maiden patch on the back. When I mentioned the name of the song he was whistling and how much I liked that album, his eyes lit up, shocked that a Pilot would actually know metal. Think I made his day.

I've got a Korn sticker on my flight kit!

All of the old foagies wonder, "Son? Why do you have a misspelled vegetable on your flight kit?"
