Here I sit, broken hearted Want to leave, but can't get started Dispatch has a silly plot So here at YIP, I sit and rot Planes and pilots will be shuffled here This idea sure is queer Out all night, I have been My duty hours are waaaay past ten In a little while, I'll take off again And head for home, where the weather's at mins Down to 100 and 1/2, the weather is, The clouds are low, but I've got the vis Of the approach lights, I hope I get a peek All I want to do, is go home and sleep Most would say, damn this fog But it's a typical night, for this freight dog This middle of the night crappy poetry brought to you by an extremely bored, caffeine-buzzing, EatSleepFly.  |

Sat in the lounge at YIP and came up with it in a matter of minutes. All true too. The weather sucked, and dispatch's stupid idea was a miserable failure that caused two of us to sit in YIP for 6-7 hours. I had a 19 hour duty day, he had 22. It's sad that it's legal. Time for bed so I can go fly around in what's left of the hurricane tonight.  |
