Does anyone know of any insurance company that sells renters insurance for a month or so?

No. They sell typically for a year. You could buy it and then cancel it after you have no use for it and get a (partial) refund. Depending on the coverage you need/select, it can be as low as $240 or so, not a big deal. Just don't underinsure yourself to save a few bucks. A substantial loss in aviation doesn't have to be a fatal accident, so if you have assests you want to keep just buy it and be done with it. |

You can try to contact Avemco and AOPA. They both offer insurance. Will run you approx $205/year for a single-engine aircraft. Covers up $5,000 of deductable in the event of an accident where you survive.
