I fly down there all the time. Dont know the CFC but the airport is pretty cool. One nice long runway. ILS, GPS and VOR approaches. Tower. Its exactly 52 miles from HEF so I have done countless afternoon/evening x-c trips down there while building x-c time.

Flew into CHO many of times. I only know of Piedmont Hawthorne being there. Maybe it sits off to the side or something.

I flew with CFC for awhile while I was in law school. It was a decent enough outfit (of course, this was 6-7 years ago -- I"m so old). Blue Ridge Flight Center was the other choice at the time; don't know if it's still there. MF |

I checked out their website. They look descent. They have a Symphony and a Cirrus and 2000 172. They didn't list a multiengine aircraft, but they give ME instruction. I'll have to go check it out next week.

are you a hokie? kick a$$ if you are. definitely will be the bad neighbor in cville if you pull that stunt. Lee corso and the boys were calling for little Vick and the hokies to upset USC in the final this year....hmmm. would be sweet. watching my deadskins get abused by the steelers right now. another long season

Cav, whooh, I was responding to Triple7's post. It looks like an awesone place to live, and we're really excited to move there. I'd rather be surrounded by Hoo's than Seminoles and Gators. Oh man do they show their support here in FL! Thanks for the info, it is appreciated.

However, I know what you mean about FL. Having lived in Vero Beach and later instructing in the Orlando area I know what you mean about the UF and FSU fans. Now I live in NJ and everyone is like college football huh? What's that? I'm not sure which is worse! I miss the Commonwealth for sure. |

HAHA....thats awesome flynavy. the student section is even more insane....when they come out to enter sandman that place is nutso. I was there from 93-98. Love that place. I am flying down for the home opener. Would like to see GA Tech game as well. Several of my fellow VT friends are flying in the navy and the guard. One in the A10...another in the F18-a at Lemoore. Another in the guard flying the KC135. Couple more in the airlines. Ever flown into BCB? the boys on college game day are saying VT will upset USC for the title this season.....we will see.

[ QUOTE ] the boys on college game day are saying VT will upset USC for the title this season.....we will see. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I saw that one today, hope it comes true! I haven't been to BCB yet, but I think I might have an "in" for homecoming tickets through my fraternity's alumni association - perfect excuse to get some x country hours - but I imagine I'll be going to ROA since there won't be a hotel available anywhere near the 'Burg! Are you instructing at Manassas? I thought about taking a job up there (DC Metro), but I can't get over the cost of living! Have fun at the NC State game! Oh, and apologies to H46 for the thread hijack |

A big thanks to cho_dude for showing me around CFC on Wednesday. It looks like a really great place to fly. Downside is no complex or multi a/c. I'm scrambling to finish my CSEL here or I'll have to find another place in VA.
