Default On par rates?

I have a birthday coming up and would like to buy myself a flight lesson or two with the hopeful ca$h I'll recive. Now some of you know that i just moved to Columbus a while ago. I havent flown since early june. I have 2.8 hrs and my main question is that is $106 about right on track for a 1981 c172 w/ instruction rates for a lesson? This is "wet" (could somebody explain what "wet" means)

Thanks. visit the fbo http://www.boltonflyingservice.com/

Lol, this post is somewhat related to the post I just wrote. Anyway, wet means that fuel is included in the cost of the rental aircraft.

That's actually pretty low!

At WOE, you'll pay $93.50 for a 1979 172N, and another $32.50 for me!

Yea, but its not the closest airport. About 20 minutes from my house. Don Scott (KOSU) is about 10 minutes down the road. But o well thats where I'm flying.

What does airport proximity have to do with the rate?

From the website : 78$/hr for the Skyhawk and 26/hr for the instructor : 104$/hr, its even cheaper then what you thought

That's a good rate now-a-days... Fair and reasonable.

Considering the price of fuel, a skyhawk will burn about 9 gallons an hour, depending on what your doing of course, so at our current pirce for gas... (4.20 here in SC) that's $40 per hour just for the blue stuff...

As a comparsion, our 172SPs go for $110/hr and $30/hr for instruction.

Because my parents have to drive me. Hey but they like the whole flying thing. They even ride along sometimes.

Still has nothing to do with the rate!
