| Moderator | [ QUOTE ] The union representing flight attendants said Tuesday that managers are now doing training in the air to prepare to become replacement workers in the event of a strike. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] In recent weeks, Wilson sold $15.1 million worth of Northwest stock, or about 59 percent of his holdings. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Meanwhile, Northwest's board chairman, Gary Wilson, continues to sell Northwest stock. On Tuesday, Northwest reported that Wilson sold almost 200,000 more shares on Friday and Monday, with sale prices ranging from $5.30 to $6.36 per share. [/ QUOTE ] Taken from here: Reg. | Old Skool | Well to me sounds like their expecting a strike and the chairman is trying to cash in his stock while there still worth something before it goes to the #####ter. So reading that to me sounds like NWA isn't going to conceed to the employees demands. Also the rumors that they're hiring spare mechanics and now spare FA's in advent but I say for when a strike occurs. Only goes further to bolster my claims that it's bouta get real nasty in DTW and MSP. -Matthew -Matthew |

It is happening as we speak; hiring replacement mech's, F/A's as referenced in this ad. , notice the fine print at the bottom. This ad has run the last few weeks here in MSP. That along with the training of managers for FA work. They are all pointing in one direction only. I think both parties; mgmt & employees are playing a big game of chicken and things don't look well. I guess that good fare to Vegas is not looking as good now. It's looking more like SY or AW is going to get my business. |

[/ QUOTE ] They have to make it public knowledge when they make sales like that. That way the other stockholders know "insiders" are selling. There are stock analysts who use insider selling as one of their major indicators, such as: argus group The reason Martha got in trouble was she was supposedly tipped in advance to insider selling. When they couldn't get her on that, they got her for lying about not being tipped in advance. Or something like that. |

| [ QUOTE ] They hiring pilots yet? [/ QUOTE ] No, not yet. There are still about five hundred on furlough and at the moment they are not being recalled. The last prediction I heard when I left last month was that they would all be back within two years. |

| [ QUOTE ] They hiring "replacement" pilots yet? [/ QUOTE ]Naw. The pilots have a contract and recently agreed to NWA's concessions. It's the mechs and FAs that seem to have their heads in the sand about what's about to happen. |
