[ QUOTE ] And people think I'm crazy for wearing sunblock on days when we'll be at altitude for hours... [/ QUOTE ] Smart move and the hell what people think. When I used to work the ramp in Guam, I used to wear sun block and the other mechanics used to laugh at me as well. The sun was quite strong in Guam, sun block, long sleeve coveralls & I would still get a sun-tan. |

[ QUOTE ] Thought the 600 series went the way of the 717. Because no one was interested in them and thus wasn't buying them. [/ QUOTE ] The 737 line is still open and customers can indeed order a 736. It's not too popular b/c its economics are almost the same as a 737-700 but with fewer seats. In other words the 736 is too heavy, much like the A318. |

Come on guys, be open minded. Composites are the way of the future. They are both lighter and STRONGER than aluminum. In other news, Qatar Airways just ordered 60 A350's which is great news for the 787. |

[/ QUOTE ] Forces them to make the A350, an inferior product compared to the 787, which will tie up there resources for the next few years. We want them to get as many orders as possible to force the A350 into production. |

Flyover, Analysis of the forces involved showed that the what the AA Airbus went thru would break any metal tail as well. Wasn't composites that contributed to that one. |

Well, part of it was due to the design of that series of Airbus in regards to the rudders--not the composition of the rudder itself, but the design of the correlation between pedal movement and actual rudder movement.
