Default Northwest hiring flight attendants... just in case

http://money.cnn.com/2005/06/08/news...reut/index.htm

First mechanics, now flight attendants, I wonder when they are gonna hire pilots just in case.

Brian,
In another post on here somewhere is the reasoning behind their hiring of FA's, just in case the current ones strike

Oh boy would that be a ####storm.

From that article:

"Individuals who successfully complete flight attendant training may be offered employment in the event of a labor dispute or strike," the ad says.

In other words....

SCABS WANTED, apply now!

Yes, I do reallize that. The reason I said this is that they seem to be building up whole back-up Northwest. Which is why they should hire pilots next. Pilot who are willing to work for free. Because working for free is good for Northwest and it helps them recover financially.

I know a couple of guys that work for a Houston based airline that would be running over people, if that were the ad. It goes for a certain former Executive Vice-President over there, too.

The AA F/As who scabbed in 93 are still, to this day, outcasts. Those who fly with them only communicate with them in as much as is required to complete job duties. Most people aren't downright mean to them, but they are certainly not treated with the same professional courtesy the rest of the crew is.

Yes, there is a list somewhere. I didn't carry it myself, but it's there.

Scabbing is not something that is soon forgotten.

I flew with one a few years ago.

He said something about being previously working for American and after a little digging, and a little googling, determined that he was an AA FA scab.

I think the first hint was when he kept ignoring the "Why in the world did you leave AA after being there for so long?"

Check out this lovely thread from A.net regarding scab mechanics in Tuscon.

http://www.airliners.net/discussions....main/2159924/

For the record, I will work on whatever plane are brought to my company, I was working here before and will still be working here after any strike.

But I would never try to cross a picket line.
