| I was just wondering if there was a website out there with the upgrade times for the airlines in general? Thanks |

| Agent Smith | If there was, I'd certainly take any data with a huge grain of salt. Good thread about upgrades, et al. |

| Reminds me of when my FOs used to tell me their "plans" for upgrade. Usually went something like this: "Yeah, I'm going to fly this (-88) for a year or two, then go over to the 76 for a year and come back to this as captain. Should be able to hold a line by then." My response was: "Good plan! That should mean I'm an MD-11 captain by then. I'm all for it!" |

| Well I am actually just looking to gain a better understanding of what regionals upgrade the fastest and have the most movement. |

| Agent Smith | [ QUOTE ] The other thread is BS! F this forum, I'm going to Gulfstream! [/ QUOTE ] Hey, lemme sell you a spool of flight line for your trip. It's a $3,000 value, but I'll let you have it for $500! |

| Out of curiosity I am guessing that if you were to move over to the 737 that would be a downgrade for you since it holds less pax? Your seniority/QOL would go up though wouldn't it? What about the 57? I am also guessing your base would change also with any equipment change? Why not SLC since it's closer to home? |

| Old Skool | Does purchasing this flight line get me a discount on your Jet Blue direct program? |

| Old Skool | [ QUOTE ] Why not SLC since it's closer to home? [/ QUOTE ] Can't speak for him but it's prolly the loads! I have friends in SLC and if I fly DL it's always on a 50 seat RJ....yuck! That thing is like a prison space is so tight. So it's Southwest for me but that flight is always, always full an double booked outa PHX,LAX,LAS to SLC. -matthew |

| Agent Smith | [ QUOTE ] Out of curiosity I am guessing that if you were to move over to the 737 that would be a downgrade for you since it holds less pax? [/ QUOTE ] Depends. If I went to the 737 category (-200 systemwide and only the -300 non-EFIS in SLC), it'd be a 'downgrade'. If I went to the 737-800, it would be an 'upgrade' because it carries more passengers and pays more than the MD-88/90. [ QUOTE ] Your seniority/QOL would go up though wouldn't it? [/ QUOTE ] I'd have great seniority on the -200's and -300's, but not as good on the 737-800. [ QUOTE ] What about the 57? I am also guessing your base would change also with any equipment change? [/ QUOTE ] Maybe. I'm kind of holding out for the 767ER because I want to 'go somewhere' as opposed to doing what I'm doing now in a larger aircraft. ATL has been a very easy commute, predictable and I can use my own airline or America West (very commuter friendly). Like tomorrow morning the flight is oversold, but I was able to prebook the jumpseat in order to get to work a few days ago. Can only be bumped by a FAA inspector or a check airmen I think. [ QUOTE ] Why not SLC since it's closer to home? [/ QUOTE ] There's a zillion people commuting from PHX to SLC, I can't prebook a jumpseat because they're mostly CRJ's and anyone knows that a wee bit of weather plus a CRJ means that the jumpseater probably won't make it on the flight! I'd be in the top 10 on the seniority list on the MD-90 in SLC but since it'd involve 'differences training' (even though I've probably got more -90 time than -88 time), it'd mean that I couldn't 'bid off' the -88/90 for two years.Bummer. All of my Della' SouthernJet croanies here in Arizona commute to SLC and a few to LAX. |

| That crew pay or airline pilot pay, which ever it is, shows estimated upgrade times, and the site owner keeps it up about as well as anybody can. Can't recall the URL right now. |
