Default MidAtlantic Pilots about to get shafted

I made a similar post earlier about this situation.

Here's an update:

If Republic goes through with this deal as a "change in control" all 330 MDA pilots will go to Republic.

If Republic goes through this deal only as an "asset sale," they will only take one half of the 330 pilots.

Unless they plan on re-selling some of those "assets," I think Republic would be better off taking all the pilots with the aircraft. Otheriwise, they wind up having to pay to train 165 pilots. For some reason, I think it would be cheaper to get all 330 up to speed on company procedures than train 165 from scratch (or as transfers from the ERJ).

Be careful there. How many times have "upstart" airlines who go out of the biz secure jobs for employment?

They will be with a new airline, thus have to go thru training all over again regardless of how much time they have in it.

Thanks for scaring me ... when I saw the title, all I could think was we GA pilots in the Mid-Atlantic region (VA, MD, DE, NJ, PA, WV) were going to get shafted somehow!

Me too.

I was thinking they were going to expand the ADIZ or the FRZ!

Interesting. So instead of Republic folding Mid-Atlantic into it's holdings, they would actually transfer everything over to CHQ/Republic? How would that be any different than American buying TWA, or did all the TWA pilots have to go through training all over again?
