| Just wondering if anyone has done the skywest internship, and what you thought about it. Do they lower their mins for interns? Thanks |

| Senior Member | Skywest does not lower their mins. for interns. The benefit to an internship is exposure to the way the airline runs and contact with management-types who can give you a leg up when you do reach the minimum flight time. |

| Thanks for the response. Are the mins still 1000 Total and 100 Multi? Also are you usually given preference to what domicile and aircraft you would like to fly, or do they pick that for you? |

| Senior Member | Willflyforfood, or now it is WillNotFlyForFood, did an internship with them. He is now working as a dispatcher out of St. George. I think if you intern and then went and got all your hours in (yes, it is still 1000 and 100 multi) you would be more recognized, but from what I know (and Chris would know more) there is no preferential treatment once you get the interview or the job. |

| I did an internship for SkyWest last Sep-Nov. It is a great program and highly reccomend it. They do not lower their mins for interns, but they'll look at you right at the mins. I went to one of the group interviews during the internship with 1030TT/135ME and they hired me. I've heard that they have hired several other interns also. |

| You should consider the ASA internship. The lower the mins to 500 TT 100 multi upon completion of the 3 months, and they have a pretty good hire rate for the interns. You get Delta flight benefits, and jumpseat benefits with ASA. In addition, you attend the full CRJ ground, and can fly the CRJ sim for at least 2 sessions. One of my co-workers is doing his third session today. That will be 12 hours in the sim, not bad. http://www.delta.com/prog_serv/delta...nter/index.jsp G |
