Hi there guys, I just have a question about what the contents of the PPL flight test in America and to see if it is similiar to what I am about to sit in New Zealand. And also what theory exams you guys take. Basically my flight test consists of these elements: Max Performance Take-off Engine failure after take off Steep turns Compass turns Max rate turns Basic stall Power and flap stall Wing drop stall 1 forced landing in a paddock (don't land but get to 200'Agl 1 precautionary landing Low flying: Valley reversal Coastal reversal Line feature reversal Low flying steep turns And two landings either: Flapless landing Glide approach Precision landing And cross wind technique if possible. And theory exams consist of: Aircraft technical knowledge Flight radio telephone operator Meteorology Navigation and flight planning Human factors Law Just wondering how this compares to the USA PPL Cheers Ryan |

We only have one written test, and all the questions are available before hand. It's sounds like much less work to become a pilot in the USA. That's probably why general aviation exists here in the manner it does.
