Santa Paula, that's where I learned to fly. I hoped to go back there and do Emergency Maneuver Training soon, but that may not be possible now.

I hope they can get some assistance rebuilding, the airport is privately owned.

Yeah, I visited Santa Paula during my first x/c as a student. Lol, "Santa Paula traffic, Cessna 123, downwind over the junkyard."

It's a pretty neat little airport, hopefully they'll get it back up and running soon.

I screwed up one day inbound to KOSU. We have river in town called the Olentangy River (its pretty ucky). The controller told me to report at the river. I did, however, I said "Buckeye 26 is over the Ole n Stanky river" oops....

Santa Paula is a very cool little airport, one of the only uncontrolled strips in the area. Lots of old timers and history, it will be very sad if it goes away.

Santa Paul is where I learned how to land. The approach into 22 is quite fun.

I'm will be going back home this upcoming weekend, and I'm going to check SZP out, see if it's still there.

It looks like they moved over to Oxnard until the runway gets fixed.
