All I have to say is WOW! Went there today on a whim with my little cousin and was very impressed with the exhibits and the attention to detail, It is built on mitchell field in Long Island which was once an operational airport .they had everything form hot air balloons to space travel exhibits. Lots of hands on exhibits that teach about lift and control surfaces and what not. then went to see the IMAX movie fighter pilot in the musuem and it was awesome, gotta say that out of all the fighter planes shown in the movie my favorite was the A10. it was about red flag (I thnk that's what it was called) when they have all the air forces from across the world compete in vegas or some type of training exercise, I was too busy looking at the airplanes to actually pay attention to the story line. I have'nt felt like that much of a kid since I was a kid if anyone is interested the website is cradle of aviation |

Wow, that place looks really nice! (it sortof reminds me of the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum) by the way, If you're ever at BDL, check out this place http://www.neam.org/exhibits.htm My father is actually friends with a guy that works there restoring the B-29. It's a really great little museum though, lots of unique and rare aircraft there. (and also from time to time they have "open cockpit days" where they let you sit in the planes |
