20 ppl voted but no response?! Lazy bums....

Thats quite the poll. Some of them I answered just because I had to. Like the grass or paved runway. The only time I was on a grass runway was when I was about 12 in an Aeronca and then on my private checkride. What a HOOT!

I prefer high-wing because I love to look out and enjoy the scenery below. Instrument flying is more challenging and rewarding for me. I have more latitude on how to execute a landing than a takeoff and it's more rewarding(potentially) than a takeoff.

Low-level windshear or FBO coffee?

That's a tough one!

I like summer flying... but only in the early morning (6am-11ish)... I get sick when it gets too hot.

Winterflying in AZ is fine... as long as it's not too cold and windy! My shivering creates Pilot Induced Turbulence.

I'm not much for coffee either... but I'll tollerate it over LLWS.

Looks like I'm in the minority here, but give me a J-3 on a grass strip out in the country and I couldn't be happier.

It's more fun to fly a plane then to operate it.

Wondered who my fellow tailwheel pilots were.

I hate coffee too, JD. Just not as much as wind shear. I tend to get my caffeine kick in the morning from good, old fashioned, not EVEN good for you, Coke. The fact that it comes with a sugar rush is an added bonus.

Tailwheels are definitely more fun. I prefer pavement because it's more challenging than grass. My home away from home though is still Skyranch in Knoxville (TN98), 1700' grass with water on both ends, and only 5 minutes from McGhee Tyson, now that's fun.

That sounds like a cool airport to come into. Probaly the best manuever I've ever learned was the 180 degree slip to a landing in the Citabria. If you manage the power, bank and slip right, you come into the flare right over the threshold.

Not many Airbus supporters here are there?

Sheesh, more people would rather fly into Low Level Wind Shear than fly on an Airbus?!!?!

My answer was Airbus, basically because I had to choose one of the two, so I thought: well since more of this guys are going to answer Boeing, not only because they make great airplanes, but also because they are "Made in America"; then I'm going to vote Airbus since I'm European (Spain)
The truth is that I think they are both great companies, making great airplanes, and although I had a soft spot in my heart for the B-747, I would really like to see the A-380 succeed.
I wish the best to both Airbus and Boeing. (or Boeing and Airbus)

Yeah I agree...give me a Citabria with no nav instruments and a gress strip anyday. It just makes it more fun.

While I enjoy the sightseeing with a high-wing, I picked a low-wing simply because I have maybe 5 out of 100 hours in a low-wing, so I'm interested in getting more flying in low-wing over a high-wing these days.
