[/ QUOTE ] Could be worse...a few years back a reserve crew flew a C141 with a van in it from McChord AFB to Grissom AFB so they could drive to Indianapolis for a Pacers Game. Some of the crew were from Indiana and really wanted to see the game! |

| I wouldn't call them morons. Actually they are just type A personalities, which is really what we want flying Military Hard Ware, its just that during times of peace these very aggressive behaviors go unchallenged and left to thier own devices they don't always make good judgement calls. When called upon to do thier duty it is this very behavior that will ensure Mission success and our dominance in the eyes of the rest of the world. Jim |

| Our CO told us that we wern't allowed to use the shop facilities for our own projects. We replied "uh sir, we just painted your car in the paint booth two weeks ago" He didn't say anything after that. ![]() The only rule that we made sure we were folowing was not to use anything govt owned if the project was going to make us money. It's amazing what you can do with scrap materials and a little know how. |

| Reminds of the time I saw national news footage of a police helicopter caught on a security camera as it sets down in the parking lot of a donut shop one night. One of the cops gets out, goes in and orders a bag of donuts and then they takeoff. Big brother's always watching! ![]() |

| Agent Smith | Heck, I know a guy who couldn't get on a flight to go see his son play football, so he went down to the guard unit and flew an F-16 up to see the game. Of course he was in the ANG, fully qualified and active on the F-16 and was a 'higher up' so I guess you could call it 'pre cleared'! ![]() |

| I saw a civilian helo parked in the parking lot of a Chic-Fil-A here in Lafayette. Not too sure if that was approved or not, but it was a very interesting site. Drove back to the airport and saw it return for landing. Neat stuff. |

[/ QUOTE ] That's ridiculous ... I could see if it was parked at a shopping mall or something equivelant like WalMart ... but when getting food? People traveling on official business w/ gov't cars NEED to eat. I've heard "rumors," yea that's it, "rumors," of places where there's a dozen gov't vehicles and only a couple of reimbursed, MWR rental cars at a deployed location ... ... it's tough for over a hundred or so to enjoy themselves with just two "authorized" recreational vehicles when the others aren't being used . |
