Evident by the freezing levels at 4000' across much of Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi. Add a PIREP of freezing drizzle at 2500' south of Atlanta, LLWS at Peachtree-Dekalb, and the various airmets out for icing from 3000-16000 and you get a grounded pilot. Grrr....Oh well, Texas can wait until tomorrow.

Doug, you lucky duck. Oh, by the way I know what you mean, I used to live in Alboqurqe, where you could ski and golf in the same day!

[/ QUOTE ] Thats the one thing I don't miss about home, the chilly winter days and the lake effect snow. Although, it really doesn't feel like Xmas time when its still sunny at 75 out everyday. |

Cold at Christmas? What a bizarre concept! It's usually 30 degrees ... centigrade .... and the air full of bush fire smoke. People often go to the beach on Christmas Day. Personally I don't like the heat, but what are ya gonnna do? S'pose I'll just have to knock back a few cold ones to compensate. |

I've spent the week in southeastern New Mexico and the weather has been beautiful. Temps in the 70s and clear skies.

Yea, it was crazy, I just got back today from the CRTC in Savannah for training ... it was warmer in Dec than it was when we were down in Oct ... but then Friday morning Sav had some serious t'storms and hail, then it was freezing ... not so bad when you had to spend hours in a chemical warfare suit and gas mask. Crazy weather down there. |
