| For those of us that are short of funds and live in the retirement capital of the world. ![]() That Boys' Toys series hosted by Carmen Electra on the History Channel is going to show two back to back shows on private jets tonight. ![]() Fri Dec 10, 2004 9:00 PM ET Private Jets #1. From today's ultra chic, state-of-the-art private jets to Lockheed's 1957 Jetstar, this 2-part special investigates the history, the luxury, and technology of America's corporate jets. In the first hour, we meet a few of the men and women who pioneered them--Bill Lear, Clyde Cessna and his nephews, Walter and Olive Beech. Carmen Electra is the host of Boys' Toys week. Fri Dec 10, 2004 10:00 PM ET Private Jets #2. Actor Michael Dorn explains what it takes to buy a previously-owned jet. Then, we travel to Dallas to visit the Associated Air Center, a company that creates very high-end, lavish jet interiors; review the latest in kit jets; and look into the new must-have of the super rich--personal jets the size of commercial airliners. | [ QUOTE ] *Wipes drool* Great motivation for getting into the corporate world. All these jets are awesome! [/ QUOTE ] ...you know you have a problem when there is a show with an attractive female as a host and some cool airplanes and you say nothing about the beautiful lady but are drooling over the airplanes. I'm just giving you a hard time Brian, so don't take it seriously. Besides, I'm an aeronautical engineering student that loves to fly, so I'm the same way and can't help getting more excited over the airplanes than Carmen Electra...kinda sad, huh? ![]() P.S. I wouldn't want it any other way ![]() |

| One of the aircraft that most amazed me was the Citation X. I can't believe it can go LA-NY in 4 hours! |

| Senior Member | I watched it but found that most of the show was history of flight, not "Private Jets". But over all it was a good show. ![]() |

I caught some of that, it seemed like history, but had to run out for a bit. Got back for the 10-11 episode, and it was all corporate jets. Awesome! |

| Those BBJs had some incredible interiors too. Just for the interior design, they estimated the cost to be between $12-15 million. ![]() There was also that private jet owned by that star trek guy which was a previous military aircraft. He said it cost $600,000 which doesn't seem to be mthat much for a jet. It was equaly as interesting to see the homebuilt jet kits. Imagine if in 20 years, jets are more popular than props in general aviation. Multi PIC jet time will be much easier to get. Do you guys think the airlines will increase their requirements as more people get private jets? |
