I saw this on Flightinfo.com a few days ago and thought I'd post it here and see what some of you guys think.... ![]() [ QUOTE ] Oh boy...I almost reached over and smacked him today. This one guy at school has got this great idea. After he gets his CSEL/MEL/CFI/CFII he's going to get his B737 type because his "daddy works for ___ and I'll get a job quicker because it looks good on a resume" For your entertainment...our conversation.............again (we seem to have this conversation at least twice a week) H: You still think getting a type won't get me a job faster than you flying right seat in a 152 huh? M: Sure, especially when you've got to spend $X every year to get a proficiency check. H: No, once you're typed, you're typed for good. Its just like a Pilot License. M: Oh okay, so then I should just go get my A380 type so when I fly for a major in 10 years I can just skip the classes and go straight to the line right? Plus what are you going to say when you go to an interview and they ask bout about some obscure 737 system and you have no idea what they're asking you about? H: You can get a 380 type already???? *at this point I decided to leave* [/ QUOTE ] Here is the link to the original post on Flightinfo.com. |

Sorry. I can't click on that link as I don't do flightinfo anymore. Plus, it wouldn't do my blood pressure any good to talk about low time pilots with jet type ratings. |

I don't mean to put you down, but posts like this one should be kept where the belong. Ignorance like this is easily found at flightinfo, no need for it in JetCareers.

It is kinda funny. However, it does kinda throw cold water on my plans to get a type rating in a 747 in preparation to become the pilot of Air Force One. |

Dman, the guy was talking about how much he hated that kind of crap. Why don't you just go crawl in a hole and stay there? |

Nope! She's down in Florida with her sister for the weekend. I got to meander around Barnes & Noble for hours, made red beans and rice yesterday, a new york steak with garlic/parsely mashed potatoes and enjoying my evening by blasting some music reading a book on "The Great War" (1) Simple pleasures, man! |

[ QUOTE ] The guy in the green suit, to answer your question, is from "Apocalypse Now" [/ QUOTE ] "You smell that? Do you smell that?... Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of napalm in the morning." |
