| Between $15k - $100k annually; depends upon airline, aircraft flown, years of service, and left or right seat. |

| Be prepared to live off of beans and rice or Top Ramen for a few years buddy!...plus a nice 2 bedroom apartment with 3 other roommates. Welcome to the world of professional aviation! You don't start seeing money until quite a bit of time after paying your dues in the regionals. Oh wait, don't forget about the few years prior to getting hired in the regionals - you must do something to build up hours like flight instructing. That'll give you anywhere from $4,000 to $14,000 a year (if you're lucky). In that time you will have a second job (ie, waiting tables, bar tender, etc) just so you can barely afford your $300/month shared room. |

| Senior Member | Okay, here goes; straight from my W-2s. Hired Aug. 1999. First revenue flight (paid flight) not until mid October. These figures include per diem. 1999: $ 2,903.37 (ouch- 2 months no pay) 2000: $18,944.53 2001: $26,305.57 (transitioned to the jet Oct. 2001) 2002: $39,088.78 (Captain pay began Nov. 2002) 2003: $62,970.30 2004: $73,198.62 (as of today) Regional wages really aren't that bad once you get into the left seat of the jet. It's by no means major airline pay, but definately livable! edit the 1999 pay is only the last two months of 1999. My total income that year was $25,760. |

| Chris, weren't you working in the training or hiring dept. also? Or is that just pilot pay your quoting? just wondering because your 04 pay seems kinda high for 5th year capt. |

| Senior Member | Additional pay included in that figure: $1900 moving reimbursement (for new COS domicile), $1369 holiday pay, $1400 overtime (extra trips picked up here and there). It looks like that's it... My pay is all hourly- flying, vacation, sick days, interviews, training, recurrent. As of my last paycheck I have 1057.21 credit hours... only 578.6 is actual blocked flying hours!! |

It is really beneficial to get the straight dope. Do you have any new videos? The last two were great. BTW, were the video's taken when you were driving from the right o left seat? I'm just trying to put a face to the name. |

| Senior Member | Hmm... probably no new videos. With three children my home time is rather limited and those take a while to produce. That may or may not be me in waving from the left seat in the video.... ![]() |
