I have a minor in posession of alcohol charge on my record as well. Hasnt ever bothered me, not even for my Top Secret clearance. I'm sure may employers take youthful indiscretions into consideration. Especially when it comes to drinking. The only difference between other folks and us, is we got caught. NOW- Do the FBI records also keep traffic offenses? I never got a no [censored] answer on that one |

You can easily get this expunged, although you usually have to wait one year. I am not sure about the whole FBI record thing brought up by another poster. I used to work in law enforcement and as far as I know, this is not even reported to the FBI. They usually only care about felonies. Unless you were fingerprinted I would not worry. The only exception to this is domestic violence, which they want to know about since they do the background checks for handgun purchases. |

well, I was brought in and fingerprinted then released...maybe thats why my misdemeanor charge is on my FBI records. All I know is they won't take it off.

[ QUOTE ] And apparently you're a very careful and conscientious driver too, eh Jace? [/ QUOTE ] LOL... that was done out in the middle of nowhere out in the desert with a consenting adult agreeing to ride in the car at those speeds. And I didn't say that it was my speedometer - coulda been someone else's picture (my legal disclaimer) |

...all this is more reason to lower the drinking age to 18, or even lower...

[/ QUOTE ] The NCIC database knows all, and never forgets--even when ordered to by a judge. And it's not just convictions, but mere arrests remain on there, too. I was falsely accused of domestic violence by a psycho girlfriend once, and the cops had a "book em all, let the judge sort em out" approach to such matters. So even though the charge was ultimately dropped, I still get to explain why I was arrested for domestic violence every time my federal record is pulled (it's been expunged from my local and state records). |

Awhile back I got a DOJ (California) personal check which came back clean. Is it possible to get a federal check too?

Yes. I'm not sure how you go about it, tho; I know it requires a set of fingerprints and a fee. Pretty sure it's covered in Reporting Clear? by Cheryl Cage. http://www.cageconsulting.com/cage_titles.html |
