Naked man climbs onto wheel of moving Qantas plane A Canadian man intent on travelling to Australia is reported to have stripped off his clothes, run naked across the tarmac at Los Angeles airport and climbed into the wheel well of a moving Qantas aircraft. Thirty-one year-old Neil Melly apparently took the bizarre action after his attempt to buy a one-way ticket to Australia was rejected because he could not supply a valid credit card. The aircraft was forced to stop and Melly was eventually coaxed out of the wheel well and arrested for trespassing, an airport spokeswoman told Reuters. If the plane had not stopped, she said, he was likely to have died after falling off the aircraft during take-off, being crushed by retracting landing gear, or freezing to death. Melly appears to have reached the plane by climbing over an airport fence topped by three strands of barbed wire. Probably flip her hair around some, put her hands on her hips and glare. Kind of like when she single-handedly stopped the Russian flight crew from taking off drunk. That show kills me. |

So thats why like 4 news helicopters were overhead while I was preflighting this morning? I looked over at the captain and told him somethings up but we didn't know what it was. He's gonna get a kick out of it over lunch!

Why did they stop him? I think it was pretty obvious he wasn't carrying anything that was a threat to the airplane and I do love a good Darwin Award... |
