| Old Skool | ExpressJet called me today, of course I was in the air and missed it. Grrrr... Anyways, they asked me to refax my resume, which I was happy to do. Now I have to await the dreaded phone interview. (Dramatic decending tones: "Dum Dum Duuuuuumm" <digs around for Jepp plates, finds only NOS...> Rats. Been on aviationinterviews.com, read as much as I could. Pretty confident in my knowledge base (how do you calculate a timed VDP again?) so hopefully things should go smooth. Hopefully. Any advice from the gallery? This will be my first airline interview, so a light in the dark would be helpful. |

| My instructor said the phone interview was over basic instrument knowledge and was nothing to worry about. He started ground school with XJet today. |

| You are correct sir! ![]() Couple things I remember him telling me about his interview experience was that after they give their company presentation they pose a question to each interviewee about their company. Questions such as what their stock symbol is, what price did it close at, what operating certificate does XJet operate under, what is the difference between the ERJ 135/145/145XR, who is the CEO, etc.. |

| Don't sweat it. I got hired there on Friday. The phone interview are just a few basic questions, any accidents/incidents/failed checkrides/letters from the FAA, basic instrument stuff, verify your times, if you're current, etc. Then, they should invite you for the interview. The interview is a very pleasent experience. They give a company presentation, ask just a few questions to see what you know about the company (group format...no one is really singled out). Then they take you one by one through 3 rooms. The first two are tech with line pilots and the 3rd is HR. Just be yourself and have a good attitude and you should be fine. They're hiring a ton. I was very impressed by the company and can't wait to start training. Best of luck to you. |

| I'm not real sure. I know they have about 300 going back to CAL. They're still getting new airplanes and continuing to expand. I was talking with a new F/O in Houston on Friday (I did that alot. Apparently, the new guys stick out like a sore thumb). He said they're ramping up for something big. I have a good feeling about this company. They seem to have their act together. |

| Pilots to CAL + Aircraft Deliveries + Increased flying/Aircraft Utilization + Crew staffing per airplane = Lots of hiring. |

| Old Skool | Got called back. Flying again. tried to call back for the rest of the afternoon-- voicemail. Good and prepped for the phone interview, if I can only get past the phone tag stage. Have a good friend going through training there now, called him and he gave me some good info. Thanks all!! Will keep you updated. ...equine mammal given the freely. <chuckle> |
