Does every single pilot cast a vote on either taking a pay cut or not? or does the Union make that decision for them? Sorry but I don't know much about unions. |

The company and union negotiators agree on a "Tentative Agreement". Then the "Tentative Agreement" comes to the average line Joe for his approval via a vote a few weeks after the "Tentative Agreement". That's *IF* you have "Membership Ratification" which some unions do not. |

Well, I'm not sure, but I think a long time ago the union at my employer didn't. The union negotiators would more or less go into a room with the company negotiators, and more or less walk out with an agreement. But "something happened" one day and then the pilot group demanded membership ratification. |

So basically this TA might not pass if Delta pilots like yourself don't like it?

If enough of the membership votes no on the ratification, it will not pass. That is unlikely however. It's expected to pass. |

Membership ratification is a pretty recent event in airline history. Not all carriers have it, and the subject is a bit controversial in some respects. Most carriers did not have it 10 years ago.
