Default Jetcareers in Afghanistan

Hard to remember where I signed it, but there's a "Get Home Safe & Thank You From Doug Taylor & The Users of Jetcareers.com" there on the banner sent to Afghanistan:

That's my old office in the background.......the ATC tower facility at OAIX.

Lived right across the way from it.

Dude- I was born about 100 yards from that building. muahauhauhauhau just kidding! No but seriously my mom went into labor in the middle of the night and they had two russian tanks escort us to the hospital. I think the Russians had just invaded about 6 months prior.

Patrol caps look goofy with bags; very Army-esque. Ya think if McPeak were still in charge, there'd be matching tan flight caps?

Life is an interesting thing.. and the World is really small.

While in Russian Air Force Academy I had a couple instructors who flew Su-25's and Mig-27's out of Bagram. The Su-25 guy had flown 460 missions. Of course they had an impression that they were a part of something great back in 80's fighting for communism "freedoms" for the southern neighbor.

Doug, my hat is off!

They wear better, though. C-caps aren't very field-friendly.

Why is that guy carrying a side arm? Is it common for pilots to walk around with a gun?

The hats do look kinda gooofy. Like they are Army helo pilots.

Well, see...these guys are military pilots. They're in the military. Canons and sidewinders don't do much good when you're face to face with the enemy...
