| Since the subject of scabs was brought up in another post, I have a question from the perspective of a pilot outside the airlines looking in. Why is it that scabs at CAL mainline hold positions as ALPA reps, and that so many of them proliferate at the high ranks at that airline? Post the '83 strike at CAL when ALPA was voted out, and up to the time when ALPA was brought back at CAL, did they "look the other way" towards scabs at that airline just so they could get back on property? And what's this BS about scabs being "in good standing" with the union? WTF is this all about? Honest question. |

| Old Skool | That CAL scab situation is very controversial. I understand that ALPA basically caved on the issue so they could get back on the property, but honestly - once 9-11 came along I stopped paying attention. |

| When I was on the 727, I used to fly a lot with guys who were CAL pilots back during the strike and never went back. They really hated Lorenzo and the scabs. They knew many guys who had their lives ruined. Those guys would have never voted to allow scabs back into the union. I think ALPA's reasons for bringing CAL in house were purely economic. They say time heals all wounds. To some extent, I think it's true and perhaps that had something to do it, too. |

| [ QUOTE ] Somewhat poor form to post that list. [/ QUOTE ] Umm, not sure. At my school they always posted the list of kids who were not going to graduate due to 'commitments'. |

| Old Skool | Wow. You know you're low when you're scamming Gulfstream. When PFT is just not low enough, you have to scam the PFT'ers...... |

| Honestly..I dont see why it was in poor taste to post that list, but again I am neither a scab nor a line holder, so I have a different perspective. The link is rather clear to what it contains..if you dont want to see the list, dont click the link. If any of the moderators wish to remove the link, I would have no problem with it either. Have a nice day. |

| [ QUOTE ] Somewhat poor form to post that list. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, its "somewhat poor form" to cross a picket line too. Those guys earned their spot on that list. No one should feel sorry for them. I don't think there is anything wrong with posting a LINK to that list whatsoever. If it was the actual list itself, that might be another story. People need to know that its taken seriously. Someone who clicks on that now might think twice about crossing a picket line later. Besides, seeing all the Gulfstream jackasses on there might just deter someone else from going there. The more people it deters, the better the industry will be. |

| I'm keeping my .02 cents to myself as to why the dissemination of that stuff on jetcareers is poor form... But bottom line, you would think that the posting of a list like that would have little to do with someone's actions which could get them on a list like that. You would hope common sense would prevail. But have I ever mentioned how common sense is rarely common? I think I saw that on a commercial during the Texas/OU game today... No wait that was AFLAC...cool duck. ![]() |

| I guess I should point out that I think people that directly go against all their union's have struggled for should be drug out into a field and shot. Before you people start thinking I'M a scab. And don't see yourself out of this thread. That's kinda boring. Come on. Tell me why this flight info type c#$p should show up here where personal opinion and discussion typically prevails unless gulfstream, MAPD, or any other miniscule success of Frank Lorenzo comes up. Flame away...at least I have an opinion that I can back up. ![]() |

| I think the reason it has been posted on here is more out of interest then anything else. It is being talked about, so people want to see. If we were talking about a certain form people would want to see it. I was surprised to see someone I knew was on there - he was actually a really nice guy. |

If you do end up getting unapologetically flamed, don't make a long, drawn out "I'm taking my ball and going home/delete my posts, I'm gone forever"! ![]() Nothing says "wuss" more than "I'm leaving forever, delete my posts!" ![]() Not saying you are, but since you've verbally invited someone to flame you, I'm just forewarning you in case it happens. ![]() |

| Old Skool | Okay, granted, I'm a low time nobody, but I don't see how someone could say that their actions didn't get them on a scab list. Don't cross the line, don't get on the list. Cross the line, and you're on it. Is it as simple as I am making it? |
