| [ QUOTE ] I think 30 beers would certainly work against you in this case! [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, you're probly right about that. I'll just stare at my pic, maybe that will help. Tom |

| Old Skool | [ QUOTE ] What happened to the plane? Was it fixable or did it get scrapped? [/ QUOTE ] Exactly what I'd like to know...I vote for scrapped the damage looked too severe. Anyone want to shed any light on this? Matthew |

I doubt that there has been an airline that hasn't had this type of incident. At mine it was a 757 into a hangar door. Start up enough airplanes facing a building and you will eventually hit a building. It's mathematical. |

| Old Skool | What a horrible waste of a beautiful 757..... Does the company just write it off as a loss when an aircraft is damaged beyond repair and get money back at the end of the year? Matthew |

| Its an MD-80 anyway. I looked into this accident a while ago, like around when it happend. I believe it was kept for parts. Which would make sense to me instead of just chucking it in the desert. As far as repairing it, I'm no airframe technitian but it looks to me like there's way to much internal damage to fix than it would be worth. Tom |

| Old Skool | Oh they prolly coulda fixed it these days you can do anything...but the question is would it have been cost effective? Prolly not...In any event scrapped/canabalized there all the same to me in that that plane will never see the skies again. Matthew |

| Hey hey now, no talking about airplanes when we have avatars to view!!! And Eeg ... you and Lloyd really need to stop with those things. That's a vision which could return at the worst possible time. |

| Yeah thats what I was getting at with my post, was that it probly wasnt cost effective to fix it. There aren't any pics of the plane after the crash on airliners.net so I'm guessing I didnt fly again after that. Here, maybe if I post my avatar a bunch the other images will melt out of your head.
