I guarantee that money will be taken out as fast as it got there.

Cristl,

Please don't tell me you're actually, truly wondering if this is your money or not. If so, I'd have to suggest you to be an ideal candidate to Delta Delta Delta once you reach ASU.

Credit card companies hold the sale from a transaction for 3-5 days before crediting the money to a business's account. Guess why?

I called ERAU today and told them what all happened. They told me the way that it works is, Sallie Mae will look over their monthly report soon and see that their bill was returned, and then go after ERAU for the money. Then ERAU will send a bill to me. But, since I told them, I can just make out a check to them now and save the paperwork!

That was awesome...having not been on the planet that long I don't know how everything works. So I learned how something else works! Go me! And again seeing that in my account just makes me want to save more money.

And everyone lived happily ever after and went, "Wee!" when they saw an airplane.

you might want to wait until you get the bill so you have some sort of paper record of what has happened with all this. just incase something happens down the road and you need it.

Ohhh yeah!

Geez *slaps forehead*..that's a good idea. Thanks for reminding me! I guess I'll just wait for the paperwork to come in, then.

If ERAU is going to send you a bill, wait until you get it, and pay it when it's due. They're giving you free money, Cristl. Take advantage of it.

Oh, and if there were NSF fees involved, make sure that someone takes care of that. It wasn't your fault, the transaction should not have happened.

What is an NSF fee? Sorry, my blondeness comes and goes.

ERAU acted really cool about it, and I don't think there will be any fees. I think they realize that none of it was my fault.

That would be what the bank charged you for not having enough funds in the account to cover the withdrawal. It stands for insufficient funds.

My bank charged me one right after Isabel. The power was out at the banks, and so I couldn't deposit my money. They told me, don't worry, we won't charge you but at the end of the month, there it was.

So I went and talked to them about it and got my money back.

That's good. I'll have to remember that one. After a while you become a master at the fine art of floating checks. College is good for something.

Float a check for a keg on friday, charge $4 to purchase a cup at a party, take all of the loot and deposit it after you wake up on sunday and voila! Instant credit!

[/ QUOTE ]yeah.. but until you get that bill and have it in writting that everything is paid accordingly.. i wouldn't trust them that much...financial type stuff changes hands all the time and people forget (esp univ. institutions!) and it'll just be easier to wait till they tell you to give the money back.

ERAU acted really cool about it in the sense that they seemed to be familiar with this situation, as if it was nothing new to them.

When I said that I didn't think there would be any fees, I meant of course my bank! Where would ERAU have any right to put fees on me?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!
