Default Looking for a watch

I saw a watch ad on an aviation magazine and like the watch, but forgot what it was called. The ad usually has some military fighter on the background. I think it is called "Breitling" or something. Does anyone know?

If I'm thinking correctly that is the watch thats like 1000 dollars. I just have a seiko watch with a chronograph. Its worked well with. 200 dollars is about the max I'll spend on a watch.

I think seiko is the cheapest watch you can buy that has jeweled gears which last longer that regular untreated gears. Plus It looks pretty schnazy.

Damn! I guess I won't be getting this one in a while. I'll have a look at the Seiko watches. Thanks!

Real Breitlings are crazy expensive. If you really want one.. go to mexico and get a knock-off! Citizen makes a nice watch that is a load cheaper than Brietling. I think the models that look pretty cool are called "Skyhawk" something or other.

Actually, Breitlings cost about $5,000 (or so I hear from my CFI).

You can get a nice one that is just shy of a grand. Most list though from anywhere from 2 thousand to 7 thousand. But there are always people selling them for discounted prices.. They will usually knock off a good chunk of the list price.

Casio Databank. Cost you about $50. Has a calculator and lot's of other cool stuff. Best watch a pilot could have.

If you want to spend around three grand for a watch, here's the one.

God, what a gorgeous watch.

"Looking" for a watch? Perhaps you should "search" for a watch, there was a huge watch thread (not a thread on huge watches, but you know...a large thread about watches) a little while back that should help you out Brian. My girlfriend's father got a Breitling for Christmas and I was looking through the catalog that came with it, the most expensive one I saw in it was $76,000. Yikes! I have a plain ole Timex that has a nice webbed band. It's everything I could ask for and its comfortable. I think I got it at walmart for 10 dollars.

PS: Also I don't think you should buy a watch on looks... The coolest looking one or most expensive looking ones are usually the most uncomfortable. Just my 2 cents.

I don't know.....

I recently left/lost/was stolen/or otherwise misplaced one of my two casio databank, $50 from Fred Meyer, watches at the Y skate park where I'm a volunteer baby sitter/medic, for teenagers dumb enough to jump off 8 foot ledges. I'm a little pissed that the kids from the skate park where I volunteer didn't "return" it but, well, I'm only out $50.

If I was out 3K, well, I'd guess I'd be stringing those little 12 year old, skateboarding, vandals up and punching them in the mouth until one confessed. But since it was only $50 or so for the casio databank watch.....complete with calculator....I guess I can let it slide and worry about more important stuff.

Nah. Sabotage their boards when they aren't looking. When they fall (which could be more entertaining than a straight beat down), make sure they know you were the one that caused the "accident."

Only posers that show up late for the hotel pickup buy imitation watches!

A few years in this career is going to make you so 'anal' when it comes to having an accurate timepiece, it's going to make you crazy!

But, perhaps it's just me because I've got an atomic clock I syncronize my wristwatch with, then i re-synch it via the ACARS at work and Kristie purchased an atomic travel alarm.

Gotta have it to the second!

Well Brian I'm currently rockin a $150.00 Fossil Blue on my arm.

It's an aviator watch in that it has the three dials for ZULU/UT, the date and the name of the day ie MON,TUES,WEDS etc.

I have been eyein this really nice GUESS watch at the mall lately. Also an aviator style but it's kinda pricey for me at the moment bout $200.00.

I'm also strongly considering another Fossil watch. I love Fossil there my favorite watch company.

My other choice for you would be Sieko if you can afford it.

If you want to attract the attention of all the other female nerds in band class, the library and the computer lab (kidding ) and make the rest of the Napolean Dynamites jealous of you heed my advice.

I'm gay incredibly handsome (kidding again...well maybe) and very stylish and we predate all the metrosexuals (that was for you Tonyw).

Another happy Citizen Skyhawk owner here. I suggest the titanium one since it is much lighter. You will not regret this purchase.

Go to a local jeweler or retailer that carries them. This way you can compare the weight difference. Then go online and search for the best price you can find. I found mine at almost half the msrp at gem of the day.
Google it and you can see how much it is. This was two years ago mind you so it may have changed in cost. Good luck.

Plus I think unless you're jogging down the street, timex style watched just look tacky to me in my opinion. A metal watch looks much cleaner and more proffesional. My 2 cents though.

Okay, guys, so you want a watch? With all the bells and whistles? For a reasonable price?

Check this one out

Aviator Watch on Ubid

It's on Ubid and it looks like you'll be able to get it relatively inexpensively.

Me, personally, I'd never buy one of those. It's just too over the top for me.

Oh, believe me, I am not a big fan of the super expensive watches. But if I'm going to get one because I win the lottery or something and have three grand to burn, I sure would love to get that one from Tiffany!
