| Old Skool | So Cal, baby! Preferably SAN but I know that nobody is based there. I could live in SAN and commute up to LAX and I'd love it. |

| Hello Mike, Is anything still going on in Nakhon Phanom & Long Tien? I was in NHa Trang a few years back. It's still a busy place, but, of course, there's no longer any US military presence there. Thanks, JR |

| Hello Lloyd, Realisticly, as long as my parents are in SoCal, I'd like to be based at OAK, SFO, LAX, SNA, BUR, RIV, SAN, etc. but I'd always be a bit worried of what'll happen to Ops once the big quake strikes in NorCal or SoCal. Sooner or later, something big is gonna happen. Regards, JR |

| Yeah, I think the big quake will hit one day....much bigger than the ones in '89 and '94. Wonder if it'll come in our lifetime.... |

| Senior Member | MRY, SJC, or maybe SFO. Big quake? I'd take one any day over that nasty weather they get on the east coast. Life will go on. Look at Alaska. They rebuild and keep livin' in the same area. |

| [ QUOTE ] TLH [/ QUOTE ] That's strange b/c i goto school in tallahassee, and there is almost no airline traffic in and out of here. It is a nice place to live though. Anyway, I would love to be based in DEN -- outdoorsman heaven...snowboarding, kayaking, hiking, cycling, etc...... over 300+ days of sunshine.... |

Seriously, I grew up in LA and San Diego, and I'm glad I'm out of there. Don't think that I'm trying to pursuade you away from it (not like I could anyways), but I just got sick of looking at the same surroundings all of the time. I've been hitting the German immersion CDs and a textbook I bought on Ebay. Wanted to learn German for years. It's a pain in the ass to get FAA ratings flipped to JAA, and I'm still not sure on the hoops to go through for EU citizenship. |

Nice guys, but a pain in the ass when you have an IFE, and they're your chase plane.....trying to understand what the heck they're trying to tell you! The US/German fistfight at the O-Club a few weeks ago certainly didn't help matters.......... |

| Doug, do you think its possible for a Delta pilot/fo to go there entire career with out being based at ATL at least once? |

| Moderator | Here's how my bid in new hire class went: ORD ORD ORD ORD DFW ORD BOS ORD DCA ORD LGA ORD or maybe, if there's any openings, how about: ORD! (I would have taken STL over DFW, but it wasn't an option at the time.) |

| Agent Smith | [ QUOTE ] Doug, do you think its possible for a Delta pilot/fo to go there entire career with out being based at ATL at least once? [/ QUOTE ] No. In fact, I'm on round-two of being based in ATL and it's KILLING me. Rumor has it that the MD-90's are going to form a small SLC base because of the closure of DFW and if I can hold a line, I'm going to be on that like stink on S---! |

| Moderator | Bill's escaped the 'ATL Curse' so far. He was NYC 727FE as a new-hire, and got CVG soon after and has never left CVG. However, with the schedules the way they are he flies out of ATL just about every other leg! |

| Agent Smith | I really... really... really... really... really... really hate doing the ATL-shuttle. If I didn't have international or transcon to look forward to, I'd have left and gone to real estate school already or dove deeper into the whole dot.com thing. |
