I went to college in Flint. Nothing like living in the ghetto of Flint for 5 years! I've never flown out of Flint-Bishop Airport. Never knew they had much flight training going on.

I was based in FNT for about a week.

Talk about a GHOSTTOWN, geez. I'd suggest the film "Roger & Me", but then people would flip out and figure it's some type of political statement.

Flint was our redheaded step child. To the contrary we had some really nice cities in Michigan. Traverse City was awesome in the fall and spring. Saginaw/Bay City, and Mackinaw City were great in the winter or fall. Plus the UP in the winter if you liked to hunt, fish, and camp.

The burbs' of Deeeeetroit (where I was) were also really nice. A mix of new developing cities like Troy, combined with old-town feel like Birmingham.

Ack. Now I'm stuck in the most un-American of states.

Of course it's BS ... funny mental image, though.

He is from Flint. I don't remember the publication ... maybe Fortune Magazine .... rated Flint the worst place to live in the US several years ago. High crime and even higher unemployment after the GM plant which employed most of the city shut down.

Now I remember why I hated the place.

Down with the anti-American leftist creep.

you know, he only got on his crusade after GM pulled out of the city and basically turned the whole place into a big slum. He was originally all about showing what big buisnesses can do to places when they decide to leave. Once people started paying attention that's when he got more into the political stuff. So you guys all have GM to thank for Michael Moore.

GMI/Kettering. Nothing like living next to the Flint River and abandoned Delphi plants! All of our neighbors around our fraternity house were unemployed ex-GM line workers. They would be on their front porch in the morning when we went to class with a 40 of malt liquor....and they would be there in the afternoon when we came home. If nothing else it makes pretty much anyplace you live after school seem REALLLLY nice!

Aack! I've been desperate to return to Michigan, but I sure won't go back to Flint unless it's to visit my parents. I can sum up Flint's history in two words . . .

Auto World.

That just about says it all!
