I got a job through friends from college flying turbine Beech 18s and King Airs. I must say that I was totally blessed to get that job seeing as I had just 20 hours multi-. I worked there almost two years and accumulated about 2000 hours of twin turbine time before getting hired at Skywest.

Weird but true story. I joined Amway under a guy who flew a Baron and a Shrike Commander. He took me flying with him LOL. Also got my MEI and started instructing in the club Geronimo. Sad fact - it cost me about 10k to get my MEI (a lot back then in the dark ages!) I was really disappointed to see that I was still only going to get $20/hr to teach in twins. |

I couldn't believe its speed. I was very impressed. On a side note. Since 337's are inline multis, is that multi time seen as any other? |

[/ QUOTE ] Yes, it is "Multi-Time", just like any other "Multi-Time"... I believe the FAA will no longer issue a Multi-Engine Rating with a "Centerline Thrust" limitation as they used to... In other words, you can't get your multi-rating in a C-337 anymore, you have to demonstrate your skills in a standard twin to obtain your rating... |

I have about 300 hrs multi. 2/3 or so is from instructing in a Seneca & 310. The other 1/3 is from personal flights, ferrying and other work related stuff. Once you have your ratings, if you have to pay for a flight somewhere, do it in a twin whenever you get the chance.

Insurance requirements are killing me in trying to up my multi time. I'm sitting at about 140 multi 800 total right now and don't meet insurace mins to instruct in our twins That's mainly because our flight school has a grumann cougar and are gonna get some duchesses, both of which I have ZERO time in....insurance required 25hrs in type for instructors. Surprise Surprise, the flight school won't pay for us to acquire 25 hrs.... I try to find an excuse to rent a twin whenever possible, although our employee discount as CFI's is close to nothing and it really hurts the pocket book. I still need close 60 hrs of multi time before I can really move "to the next level", it seems. |
