Default Two plane crashes in Russia...

Starting to sound fairly framiliar, lets hope it isn't a act of terrorism, and pray for the victims.

Yeah I wonder why those two Russian planes crashed, was it probably engineering flaws like what happend to their Tf-144's? or could be an act of terrorism, prayers go out for the victims.

People say "prayers out to the victims" during instances like this. My question is...Do any of the people who say that pray?

CNN is late then. I was just watching and it said that one crashed and the other one just lost communication.

Don't know about that. Pretty sure that some people that don't say it, do.

I'd lean toward terrorism. Both planes departed the same airport at the same time, both drop off the radar within 3 minutes of each other with apparently no warning and Chechnya's 'elections' are this weekend, which the Chechyan rebels have made more than clear they will do what they can to disrupt them. Also, they are now reporting the tail section of the first plane is reported to have been located a considerable distance from the rest of the wreckage.

Default Hijacked?!

Report: Russian Jet Sent Hijack Signal

By STEVE GUTTERMAN, Associated Press Writer

MOSCOW - A Russian airliner crashed and a second disappeared from radar about the same time Tuesday night after both planes took off from the same Moscow airport, raising fears that terrorism was involved.

The Russian news agency Interfax reported that a hijacking signal was activated on the second plane before it went missing. The signal came at 11:04 p.m. from the Tu-154 airliner, Interfax quoted the source in Russia's "power structures" as saying.

I dunno, if there was an 'event' shortly after takeoff, the last thought in any pilots head is going to the 'code', and more with securing the flight deck.

Mesmells speculation.

Exactly. Knowing the Russians, the first thing, get those AK-74 shorty's and body armor off the aft cockpit wall and get the FE and Co in action!

Wasn't the second plane already 600 miles south of the departure airport? Maybe one of the last things the pilots did was to set the transponder. Though, let's not speculate and leave the facts to the officials. (yeah right!)

Yup.

For now, it's probably best to just call it a tragedy. And the two crashes are tragedies, regardless of whether they were horrible accidents or terrorist acts.

I HIGHLY doubt Muslims had anything to do with it. The Russians have been against the US going into Iraq since the beginning, why would the Muslims do anything to flip Russia over to our side? IF it was terrorism (and being the level headed individual I am, I'm waiting for more evidence) it was probably the rebels in Russia who were responsible. If so, they obviously stole a page out of the Al-Queda playbook, maybe HOPING someone else would get blamed.
