Default Traffic accidents and aviation career

Good morning, everyone:

Not too long ago, I read an article about you have to submit your past drive recrod, including tickets and accidents. I am wondering if you have 2 traffic accidents(In one case, driver were responsible, other was not), would that affect you to be hired by the airlines? The accidents happened about 4 and 7 years ago. Since then, he has perfect driving record (no ticket, no accident...etc.) He is CFI now.

nope forget about it. He actually has a blemish on his record?? Tell him to pack it in he is done for!!! No airline will ever accept that he has made a mistake

ok jk just tell him to be ready to explain what happened. In some instances it may no longer be on his record. Some airlines only ask about tickets within the last 5 years.. None the less just have this friend be ready to say what he learned and how it has made him safer and more mindful of the law. yada yada yada and there you have it. You spend about two minutes on traffic stuff at most interviews unless its tons of tickets or dui/reckless.

No the accidents are pretty much a non-issue. The accident from 7 years ago is probably already off his record unless it was due to reckless driving or a DUI.

Good morning, everyone:

I told my friends about this message board. He wants me to put the following on and ask you guys opinions.

According to him, His 1st accidents was due to lost control of his car. He complained to polices/state trooper about the followings. While tried to pass a semi in foggy/rainy day, The semi crossed a division line (rear tires over center). It caused him to his left front wheel over to medium(Which was under construction). When he tried to recover, the car actually went completely opposite way. It cashed into guard rails. He walked off the accident without any scratches. Witness told my friend, they saw his car did a 360 degree somersault in the air. Police gave him for speeding under circumstance. It happened right out side of ATL.

2nd accident happened at Chicago, IL. He was on his way to groceries store for picking up some medicine. (His parents flew in town from overseas.) An old lady crossed double yellow lines and turned at left turn lane. They hit each other head-on. Polices gave both driver tickets. The lady tried to sue my friend, but insurance company stop doing that. It was determined an other drivers' fault by police.

He asked me to put these accidents on this board before his 1st student of the day. He would like to know wether it affects his chances to regional or freight airlines.

nah its all over. pack it in, finished, caput, down the drain. I mean yeah they happened a long time ago but he surely doesnt seemed to have learned his lesson by having a perfect record since his mistakes right?? I guess thats that, so much for an aviation career.

dude im just pulling your leg. my response was intended to be sarcastic. What I meant was that his driving record has been flawless for what 4 years plus? That is a good sign that he has learned his lesson and moved on. I have gotten two tickets in my life, neither of which are on my record anymore. At the interview I said I had 2 tickets more than 5 years ago when I was young and silly but they are no longer on my driving records. I recommend getting your state and national records and seeing whats on there. I highly doubt those would be disqualifying. Just ask doug he also had an accident and still got hired...
