Default Plane crash in Texas

Yep....2 small children among the 6 occupants killed. It was a piper aerostar bound for OKC. 3930 ft runway in 95 degree heat with a heavily loaded airplane.

They crashed into and destroyed a house, luckily the three occupants of that structure escaped.

Probably not within the accelerate stop/accelerate go distances for that airplane but I'll refrain from too much speculation at this point. The pilot was very experienced and was owner of the charter company who owned the airplane.

4000ft should be plenty for an aerostar if operated legally.

We've had 4 crashes in North Texas this week and one in Missouri with ties to Texas. 18 Fatalities, 0 survivors.

Hey Jason, you know Bob Bailey? I think he's from Denton.

The truth is with most light twins with an engine failure just at or after liftoff you are going to have to be light and good to fly it out. Absent that the goal is to stay in control and hit right side up.

I just moved here a month ago so I don't really know anyone around here yet aside from the people I work with...but that doesn't mean I won't meet him sometime. Do you live around the area?
