Default Torch has been passed

My parents have recently retired and moved to South Carolina and are in the process of closing on the house I grew up in.

but.... as I was packing last night the family who is moving in was dropping off some stuff as I was up in my room packing. Their youngest son, maybe 4 years old will be getting my room. He ran up the steps last night into my room and his eyes went wide when discovering all the airplane models and gadget's I have displayed everywhere. I gave him one to play with and we're talking about airplanes but his attention was caught by a big Flying Fortress model I had high up on a shelf...

anyhow.. i ended up giving the little guy one of the models to keep that I built of a Piper Arrow and a couple flight patches for an F14 squadron... little lucas had the biggest smile on his face and spent the next hour or so running around the back 40' flying his model airplane with the biggest mac n' cheese grin on his face yelling mommy.. I wanna fly up there !!!

I'm gonna miss that house and my room.. lol.. but I think the hours spent staying up till the wee morning hours reading everything and anything about aviation might continue in this little guy ... his enthusiasm was priceless !!

And that is where his career might start.

"It all started when I was 4 years old and moved in a new house. I went to my room and was amazed at all the airplane models the boy had. When he gave me one of the aircraft models, I knew right there that aviation was my passion..."

You notice when reading a pilot's biography it usually starts at those years and the teen years. There's aways something that sparks their love for aviation.

Dude, if they're buying the groceries and paying the electric bill then there is NOTHING wrong with living with the fam, unless they try and give you a curfew.

Of course, now that I'm 4,500 miles away it's a little out of the question.....
