This is kind of a strange feeling.

Right now I am getting ready to log off of my computer at my job for the last time. Like I posted a few weeks ago, I have decided to take a position instructing full time. I'm excited to start teaching full time, but it is strange to get ready to walk out of a place you have been almost every day for over three years and never come back.

I remember my last day at the schoolhouse when I left the Marine Corps. It was pretty somber....clearing out my wall locker, deleting my stash of por - personal files from the computer and making sure I had all of my stuff from the office. I spent alot of time going around the classroom and lab, remembering all of the Marines that had gone out into the fleet, wondering who I'd taught that would one day stand in my place....

Then, I made a slow drive around the flightline, remembering all of the days I'd ran the course, knowing that I wouldn't have to do it again!!

Life moves forward, and we do too!! Good luck with the new gig, and have fun!!!

It does tend to disrupt your reality for a little while. But it is important to close the book, open a new one, and start fresh. You'll have a few of these in your career.

The one that is really a cold shower is reading in the paper that there's no job to go to anymore. It's much better to leave by your own choice.
